In September, 2023 Furaha asked for $21,950 for renovations to the Baraka Academy’s failing buildings. We are pleased to report that over twenty months full funding has been accomplished. Furaha has held closely to the budget completing work as money was available. Upgrades have increased enrollment of paying students from 528 in ‘23-’24 to 1247 for ‘24-’25 academic year. Enrollment is up to 1731 students with age levels divided into morning and afternoon classes.
Any surplus from the building project will be used for school supplies, teacher compensation and other programs.

Baraka Academy’s facilities have been greatly improved with money from HFTC. Outside painting, roof repair and drainage issues as well as interior ceilings, cement floors and painting have been accomplished.
