From the Board Chair
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
As we come to the close of 2025, we remember with great joy and thanksgiving the many evidences of God’s provision for Bisoke and Furaha and their work. We, as a board, are privileged and awed to have been called to play a part in God’s plan to shine His light in the Congo, the light that will not be overcome.
2025 highlights are many:
Establishing a primary school at the Peace Center for children at the Rwampara Displaced Camp and funding the building of one of the two classroom buildings
Seeing pictures of children holding plates of beans and rice
Watching Akiki, who has walked on her knees for years, receive a wheelchair on Christmas Day
Spending valuable time with Bisoke during his six-week visit to the United States in the autumn. Seven of our eight board members introduced him to new friends. and he renewed old relationships
Hearing Bisoke’s many stories of faith in the dark times, his joy in all things, and His words of encouragement to us.
Experiencing the outpouring of donations from all over the country as people are praying and hearing about Hearts for the Congo
As we move into 2026, we look forward to:
Growing in our relationship with Bisoke
Developing plans to empower Bisoke and his work
Growing as a board
Continuing our prayerful mission to achieve what God has put before us
Our Father in Heaven, we thank you for the love and prayers for the work of Hearts for the Congo. We thank You for your faithfulness and provision. We ask You to pour out the blessing of your presence in the New Year. Amen
